During the Holiday's I usually avoid "the mall." Too many people, cars, hustle, bustle and bad Christmas music. This afternoon, I made an exception. Since my tutor clients canceled (as I was driving up to their house) I decided to take a detour and stop by the "Big Mall Up North" (BMUN) to use a $10 off purchase coupon for a specific store. (The store is not at the "Downtown Mall Close to Work." (DMCTW ) There is a specific place I like to park at the BMUN, and is often crowded and hard to find a place this time of year.
As I was pulling in, there appeared to be a long line, so I said a quick prayer/ "Ok, Lord, please help me find a parking place quickly. And provide a spot for the cars ahead too." As the cars moved into the parking area, I noticed it was packed! I drove around, following another car and guess what?! A car started pulling out and that person found a parking place. I waited a few minutes and then continued down the aisle and guess what?! another car started to pull out! A car away from where the car in front of me had parked. My prayers worked! I was quickly in the mall to complete my errand.
It reminded me how God really cares about the little things in our lives. Finding a parking spot that quickly doesn't always work, but today it did and it was a blessing on a rainy evening! Just think - if He cares to provide a parking spot, He also cares about the bigger concerns. Perhaps I just need to ask more often.
(for my deal-loving friends: the coupon was $10 off purchase at a "girly" store. I knew what I was looking for & found it. $8.50/each or 5/$25. I had decided ahead of time that I only needed one item, but it was sooo tempting. I held strong. Yes, I may have left $1.50 on the table, but I stayed within my budget of $0.)
