Over the weekend, I went to IKEA for the very first time. It was a bit overwhelming and there are LOTS of things to buy. The store is set up so you have to walk through everything, which I really liked, especially for the first visit. I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. Next time, I will just get a bag (or bring one of my own) at first instead of grabbing a cart. It was a fun adventure with my Uncle Dan (yup, a guy agreed to go! but in his defense, my Aunt Kate was busy with a class.) Lunch was eaten in the cafe - meatballs & mashed potatoes anyone? The lingonberry sauce and the special drink were yummy! but not enough to take home. Although there were lots of cute things that I could have taken home, I made some hard decisions and bought some food gifts (marmalade, swedish fish candy) for my family, and a two bigger items: a kitchen table and a desk chair. The kitchen table has been put together, but the chair is still in its box. These things take time.
