I used my friend Mary's idea of a corkboard to display necklaces. The one below is painted blue (the color of the walls in my bedroom) with fabric over the cork portion. (I used iron-on hemming strips to size the fabric and attached using a low temp glue-gun.)

Look carefully and you'll notice that the edge between the wall and ceiling has been fixed AND even more importantly, there are things on the wall! Quite exciting.

More exampes of wall art. The two frames are currently empty, but I plan to collage them with items from a couple of trips and maybe even college memories. They're from Pottery Barn (on sale & I had a gift card!) Inside the frames are the stickers and pushpins that came with them, just so they won't be lost.

The pillows for the back of the couch desperately need re-covering. Below are the sample swatches that I bought and brought home to check it out. I'm making 2 covers using the creamy suede fabric and one each of the other two options. What is not visible is the coordinating green braid that has replaced the old braid. (I cut off the old & glued on the new!)

Oh so you got the idea from me! You are far craftier with the fabric though... I need to do that. And I thought the two empty frames were mirrors! LOL!
You have some great ideas! I tried to post comments on facebook but it kept saying that it is unavailable due to maintenance. grr. It is still unavailable right now - although I could check status's at work.
I love all of it!! Great job!
The necklaces look so cool! And--this will sound ridiculous--but I'm envious of your curtains. Good curtains are hard to find! (Which is probably why there are still none here, two years later...I've now progressed to the "whatever, we're moving in three months" stage).
Thanks! The curtains are Battenburg Lace curtains that I bough at Linen's n Things :-(
It was hard to find good ones. I was trying to coordinate paint colors & floor colors, etc. These curtains almost match the cream color that the cabinets are painted.
