Advent

Today is the Third Sunday of Advent. I had grand plans to blog about Advent and how I incorporate it into my life. Or perhaps just blog about the different weeks & meanings. Alas, here it is the third of four weeks and I have not mentioned it on my blog. Come to think of it, there has not been much in the way of blogging since the "What I [would] be" series in November! In addition, I have not done much in the realm of celebrating Advent anyway.

On Friday night, I attended the Gonzaga Candlelight Christmas Concert. It was an amazing, beautiful, blessing and joyful experience. Two friends from GU MBA program joined me for the evening. We started out at Perry Street Pizza with their Perry Street Rosa pizza with an extra of prosciutto and beer. Back at my house, we dressed up for the evening and headed to campus. The evening was reminiscent of Christmas Vespers at Mount Holyoke College only with co-ed choirs and a larger church. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed singing Christmas songs. The choirs sang one song in particular that I remember singing in MHC's Concert choir - Tomorrow shall be my dancing day. Ah, fond memories.

Overall, the evening was a delightful nod to the Advent and coming Christmas seasons and confirmed the need for music in my life. My living room needs a small piano where I can refresh my rusty skills!
