#Reverb10: Prompt 11, the blog-along - September Update

It is the end of September and summer is officially over. Oh, wait, we didn't really have a summer in terms of weather.  It is time to make another update to the #Reverb10 prompt for the blog-along with  MathNerd314 and [info]chemgal18.

Here is the prompt for those who may have missed the first post:
What are 11 things your life doesn't need in 2011?
How will you go about eliminating them?
How will getting rid of these 11 things change your life?

Things still in progress: 1) 35 pounds, 2) excess stuff,  5)stress, 6) second guessing decisions, and  7) procrastination

Completed or no longer applicable items: 3) a house(n/a), 4)money stress, 8) loneliness, 9)single discontent, 10)over-analyzing work situations and 11)lack of traveling

I'm a bit late getting my post completed (again!) but it has been a full week emotionally of saying goodbye to a godly man. The associate priest at my church passed a"way last week and the funeral service is today. I'm grateful that he is no longer in pain and that he is in presence of God but I am sad for his family and our church. I always felt encouraged after talking with him and his sermons always had that "zing" that made me reflect deeper on how I could live my life better.

The year is 3/4 finished and I feel like I'm making progress on my list.Last weekend some excess stuff left my house in the form of a yard sale - but a couple of items came in! I'm still working on cleaning up the new windows - I've patched some holes in the wall and now need to touch up the paint and then I can install new curtains. I decided to keep the shear curtains but need to pick new "regular" curtains but I haven't found anything that is "perfect." So I'll keep searching. If you've been following this series, you might have noticed that I moved loneliness to the completed list. I've decided to embrace the lonely feelings instead of ignoring them.

Anna, I'm sorry to hear about your priest.
I am looking forward to IKEA with you tomorrow! I hope you have your window measurements with you. Maybe we could find some curtains in the as is section. I've found some really nice ones there that were a floor model and they were half price!!
